Seasons of Disney

Disney World has distinct decorations to match certain seasons. It is something to consider when planning a Disney vacation if your plans are flexible. All of the parks decorate for Christmas in early November. Magic Kingdom decorates for fall and Halloween in mid August through October.

Magic Kingdom Special Events

Magic Kingdom periodically has special ticketed events. There are two important things to know about these. Magic Kingdom closes early those nights. Those events are fairly expensive, but they are extremely fun. They are special and they are usually less crowded than ordinary nights. Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party is a favorite annually. Other events come and go and change. There is always a Christmas party. There is often some event in the spring as well.

EPCOT Festivals

There are 2 major festivals that return year after year, Flower and Garden, and Food and Wine. EPCOT also hosts other festivals throughout the year that come and go. Always check the Disney Calendar when planning your vacation. Each of these festivals brings unique merchandise along with it.

The Flower and Garden Festival is in the spring to early summer and brings beautiful floral displays. There are also unique food selections and entertainment offerings. The Food and Wine Festival runs from the late summer through late fall. It is an absolutely amazing event. World Showcase is filled with food stands and beverage carts in addition to the already immersive culture experiences. This is something every Disney Dad needs to try at least once. It is difficult with younger kids to navigate for too long as there is not much for them to do in World Showcase. But older kids do enjoy the sights, sounds and snacks. World Showcase is already a festive party atmosphere. The Food and Wine Festival only enhances the environment.
